The Crusty Suitcase Band, of which I am a member, are playing the Factory Theatre in Marrickville next Wednesday evening – November 5th. The Factory is a spacious and kid-friendly venue. There’s plenty of casual seating, stools and tables etc.
The Crusty Suitcase Band is a rare beast in many ways: it features wind instruments and percussion/drums exclusively: Saxes, clarinets, trombone and tuba (actually a sousaphone). Also the music is written exclusively by the drummer Ben. This is one of the most enjoyable bands I’m involved in, and our audiences always have great time.
Anyone can get the concession price at pre-book or on the door by mentioning the code-word ‘spaces’.

Lucian McGuiness is a musician. He plays trombone. He runs a media lab and studio for Sydney music-makers called Impermanent. He teaches academic classes at AIM. The jury is still out on his Masters thesis.
