The wonderful venue at St Luke’s in Enmore will be host to some more concerts next month, courtesy of the Kinetic Theatre folk. Mike Majkowski and I will be further exploring and refining our double bass and trombone duo performance vocabulary on Friday 9th April, in a program also featuring Graham and Jepke from Kinetic, and the Jackson Harrison trio. The breadth and substance to Mike’s vocabulary on the bass is worth seeing up close, and Graham says the hall venue will be set up ‘in the round’ this time, which should make for pretty intimate, and possibly confronting, performance space. I have an idea that the venue space and the proximity of the seating will enhance our duo thing, although it can potentially also reveal more than intended.
